New bagel concept in Dubai by H2R Design combines greenery with warm-wood furniture

H2R Design has completed the design for Dubai’s first Bagel Yard, taking notes from the Montreal-based concept’s natural philosophy and commitment to authenticity.

The contemporary and light-filled space, located in Dubai’s Al Wasl Road, is adorned with a variety of vibrant greenery and light colour palette, enhanced by the extensive use of natural materials such as wood and terrazo.

“We were briefed with the task of creating a cosy and home-like destination for customers to fall in love with,” the team said. “Given the intricate detail that is put into the bagel-making process, we wanted to represent this delicacy within the design of the space. By creating a fresh, clean and aesthetically appealing interior layout, we have proudly created a new home for Montreal’s famous home-made bagels in the city of Dubai”.

An open oven is set at the heart of the space, while hot bagels hang on a wooden pegboard to cool down.

Warm-coloured wooden textures are set within the floor and furniture paneling to symbolically represent the signifance of the wood in the bagel-making process.

The design also interweaves industrial mettalic and copper elements within the counter tabletops, the utsensil holders and table numbers.

LED lighting frame the counters, while pops of blue – the signature colour of the brand – is hinted across the furniture as well as the distinctive brick wall.
