H2R Design was tasked to create the interiors of Hardee’s restaurant in The Dubai Mall’s new Fashion Avenue extension. The goal was to create an elevated, modern and versatile setting that would attract a wide demographic of diners. The designers experimented with layered textures, brand graphics and wood paneling to create an uplifted ambience for the brand’s new flagship location.

Brand colours were introduced in the black and red hanging lights as well as in the stools dotted around the space. Floor to ceiling windows allows diners expansive views of the Dubai Fountain. Factoring in the functionality of the restaurant, and its proximity to the fountain, the restaurant has also been equipped with multiple self-service kiosks for efficiency, allowing for faster service for dine-in and takeaway.

“With Hardee’s deep rooted history and brand association as a fast food chain, our challenge was to reinvent the existing look, while still following the brand guidelines,” says Hasan Roomi, co-founder and partner at H2R Design. “We wanted to ensure that the new design and attributes were still correlating to the historical brand story. Through our design process, we were able to open up playful features in some respects, while keeping certain elements in its classical form.”
