GIA began in Jakarta, Indonesia as a restaurant and bar of voluminous space that caters to high-end clientele. Hecker Guthrie continued the GIA design journey with the client by taking the key elements of the original location and adapting them to create a more casual atmosphere that serves diners in The Dubai Mall.

We we’re asked to be the interior design consultants,using local expertise, contacts and materials to help bring Hecker Guthrie‘s design concept to life. Delivering on Jakarta’s Gia flagship,and translating it to it’s new home and context in Dubai.

Taking inspiration from film and architecture of Italy’s 1950’s era, GIA Dubai embodies the concept of good living (La Dolce Vita) with an exceptionally, authentic all-day dining Italian menu.

Airy bright whites and pops of light colors make the design of the dining room distinguishable, blending classy modernity with a twist of retro. The terrace has cosmopolitan elegance and fantastic views of The Dubai Fountain, providing guests with a stylish, informal venue any time of the day and night.
